The first of the four design schemes – Fire – represents the untamed spirit of the elemental quartet. It is the spark of dynamic energy, a primal force that dances on the edge of chaos. Unlike its elemental counterparts, fire is fleeting, elusive, and ever-changing. To capture its spirit, our art director Tom Hnida has chosen candy paints the translucent, pigment-free colours that, when applied in gradient layers over metallic undercoating, create an unparalleled depth of hue which ranges from champagne to rusty orange to dark brown here.

The application requires enormous skill on the part of the painter who has to keep a steady hand, especially when covering complicated shapes such as the bottom bracket shell and other joints on the frame. As a symbol of fire, Tom used the alchemical symbol for the element – an upwards-pointing triangle.

The Elements Fire comes with a painted saddle, stem and handlebars.
